Extending the alternatives to protesting

As part of the implementation of the RYA charter by the club, we make provision for using the Exoneration Penalty, Arbitration Hearings, Advisory hearings and Protest hearings.  The aim  to hold Advisory and Arbitration hearings after sailing on the day that they are requested, and Protest hearings within a week.  We encourage all competitors to take the appropriate on water penalty as their first option if they break a rule, but if there is a dispute as to whether a rule was broken, then Advisory or Arbitration hearings offer a fast and friendly way to find out.  Click here for more information and see the Sailing Instructions that cover this.
