The Siberian wind and snow may be coming next week, but hopefully not before Saturday Club can get in a quick extra blast out on the water this coming Saturday morning. For those that would like to join me, we will meet at the usual marked table in the main Club Room at 9.45am on Saturday 24th.
The current forecast is for a bright, sunny, sparkling winter morning with 12 knts of wind gusting up to 22. With the wind already from the East and forecast temperature of just 3 to 5 degrees, I can't pretend it won't feel cold but, if you're wearing your winter sailing kit, it could be a great morning to get out on the water for some fresh air and enjoyable sociable sailing! I expect there will also be a group (maybe all of us if it's too cold on the day) who just meet up and stay for a coffee or two - so just turn up on Saturday morning and then decide whether you want to sail or not. I'll be there to match helms and crews as required for double handers and, if we're still there by lunchtime, we'll have lunch too. - nothing formally organised, just turn up and sail.
This weekend is also the RS Emergence of Season Open Meeting with around 60 RS boats entered. Their first start is at 1.00pm so we'll be aiming to be on and off the water before they start - then you can watch them race over lunch from the warmth of the Club House!
Hope to see you there.
