Water level now too low for boat hoist - Calling all engineers

Notice for all keel boat sailors,

Sadly, the water level has now fallen to a level where it is not possible to use the hoist for all boat types. The water level fell 40 cm from Monday to Wednesday this week and it is expected to continue to fall and become a problem for all boats by this weekend, 15-16th July.

Council Member and 2.4 keel boat sailor Paul Schroder will be heading a team to explore alternative keel boat launching ideas, with the hope to find a reasonably practicable solution. If you are an engineer or an interested party who would like to join the group please email tony.bishop@queenmary.org.uk to join the team.

If you are a keel boat member the club has a range of boats that you are welcome to use, alternatively we can help you to launch your keel boat from the bank if you would like to try. But, please call us in advance.

We are very conscious is now a regular event and hope we can find a solution.
